The Grand Maestro “The Chess” Moonphase is the latest expression of this legacy. A creation inspired by the world’s most cerebral game, every line and detail from composition to colour evokes the strategy, foresight and visual language of a chess match. At once elegantly simple and profoundly wise.

The 43.5mm stainless steel case features vintage-style round chronograph pushers, while its dual-layered curved bezel evokes the sculptural form of a chess piece, balancing majesty and minimalism. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the sandblasted dial is paired with three-dimensional hands and hour markers, all coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova for supreme legibility in intense darkness. The dial is offered in a choice of three colourways, each expressing a refined sense of understated luxury: champagne and black breaks from the traditional monochrome with a fresh, modern contrast; midnight blue captures the rhythm of the night sky and the dance of waxing & waning moons; and simple silver-white conveys timeless elegance.

At the heart of the watch, the ETA 7751 automatic chronograph movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 48-hour power reserve. The dial is composed with depth and harmony across three subdials: At 12 o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter combines day and month displays, with a red-tipped date hand for clarity; 9 o’clock sports a small seconds subdial and 24-hour display for effortless management of dual time zones; and down at the 6 position, a 12-hour chronograph counter paired with a moonphase display traces the rhythm of the lunar cycle. Like the perfect move in a grand match, every feature demonstrates intellect, patience and the quiet power of foresight.
